About Radio Chronicles

Radio Chronicles airs Sundays on Pacifica Radio KPFA 94.1 from 6:30-7:30 pm, featuring stories by and about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events. Oral histories, audio diaries, autobiographies, and spoken word oddities are at the heart of this series. This hour-long program aims to honor that “stand alone” audiotape tale whose content and length don’t fit the standard broadcast formats or categories of news, public affairs and music programming. Our features have included a wide spectrum of topics, from the poignant stories of children growing up in San Francisco’s poverty-stricken Tenderloin district to travel stories from off beaten paths throughout the world to the spiritual journeys of a daughter and mother trying to heal an estranged relationship against powerful odds.

Currently, the core producers for The Radio Chronicles include Safi Wa Nairobi, Nick Alexander, Antonio Ortiz, Gil Cho, and Erica Bridgeman.

New Series: Digital Chronicles. On the last Sunday of each month, Radio Chronicles gives way to Digital Chronicles, a program that focuses on new media issues facing the 21st century. Visit the Digital Chronicles Page, check us out on the air or listen to us live on the web at www.kpfa.org
